New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor introduces the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor in India, with prices starting at Rs 7.73 lakh (ex-showroom) and reaching up to 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-tier variant. This compact SUV shares its platform with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, available at a similar price range of Rs 7.51 lakh to Rs 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom).
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor Features
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor sports a fresh honeycomb grille, redesigned LED daytime running lights, and brand-new 16-inch alloy wheels. However, apart from these updates, the exterior closely resembles that of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, with only the badges distinguishing the two.
Inside the cabin, the most noticeable change is the introduction of a dual-tone layout, giving the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor a distinct appearance compared to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Despite this, the features remain identical. The vehicle comes equipped with a 9-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an Arkamys surround sound system, automatic climate control, a head-up display with turn-by-turn navigation, a 360-degree view camera, and a wireless charger.

Constructed on Suzuki’s Heartect platform, the compact SUV boasts advanced safety features including six airbags, three-point ELR seatbelts, electronic stability control (ESC) with hill-hold assist and rollover mitigation, ABS with EBD and brake assist, and Isofix child seat mounts.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor Powertrains
Both the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx share identical powertrain options. They offer two engine choices: a 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol engine generating 90PS of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque, and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 100PS of maximum power and 148Nm of peak torque. The 1.2-litre engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT), while the 1.0-litre engine is available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, there is a CNG variant available with the 1.2-litre engine, delivering 77PS of maximum power and 98Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
