MONIN Coffee Creativity Cup 2023 Crowns India’s First-Ever Barista Champion
Delhi: International flavor giant, MONIN, recently organized its first-ever MONIN Coffee Creativity Cup (MCCC). This competition aimed to discover the most innovative, progressive, and creative coffee mocktail crafted by professionals in the industry. MONIN has been involved in promoting new talent in India through various such events every year. The competition not only celebrated India’s growing love and interest for coffee but also helped the growth of the entire coffee community.
The quest to discover India’s finest barista commenced with great enthusiasm on July 19 in Delhi, marking the initiation of the initial round of regional competitions. The next part of the regionals was held in Mumbai on July 27 and Bengaluru on August 1. Contestants were tasked to create an innovative espresso-based mocktail that enhances and appeals to all five senses — sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch. Each participant’s ability to seamlessly integrate this multi-sensory experience into their beverages was evaluated for scoring.
The crowning glory of the competition was the Finale held on August 3 in Bengaluru. The selected group of 10 participants showcased their skills and shared their recipes before a distinguished panel of judges, including Felix Daniel, Mithilesh Vazalwar, Kruti Malgi, and Akanksha Gupta. Soudh Abubakar Ibrahim claimed the prestigious title of the MONIN Coffee Creativity Cup 2023’s. As a result, he is now prepared to represent India at the Global Finals in Malaysia, an accomplishment that includes a fully covered trip to the event.
