Bajaj Pulsar NS400 India launch on May 3
New Delhi: The Bajaj Dominar 400, KTM RC 390, and 390 Adventure maintain the utilization of the older 373cc single-cylinder engine, delivering power outputs ranging between 40-43.5hp, contingent upon the specific model. The forthcoming Bajaj Pulsar NS400’s power output is yet to be confirmed, with speculation regarding whether it will match the Dominar’s 40hp or the higher 43.5hp output akin to the KTMs. The NS400 will retain the established 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch, while the inclusion of a quickshifter remains uncertain.
It is anticipated that the new Bajaj Pulsar NS400 will adopt the perimeter chassis derived from the NS200, renowned for its capacity to accommodate higher power outputs than the 200’s 25hp. The chassis is expected to undergo reinforcement and adaptation to accommodate the larger 373cc engine, potentially resulting in a reduction in weight compared to the 193kg Dominar.
Regarding design, the extent of alterations remains undetermined, though it is reasonable to anticipate continuity with the existing NS family’s aesthetic, which recently underwent a refreshment. Anticipated features include a USD fork and an LCD dash with Bluetooth connectivity.
Positioning-wise, it is expected that the forthcoming Bajaj Pulsar NS400 will occupy a tier below the Dominar 400, presently priced at Rs 2.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), thereby emerging as the most competitively priced among the 40hp, 400cc motorcycles available in India.
