MG Hector Blackstorm Edition launched at Rs 21.25 lakh

Mumbai: The Hector Blackstorm Edition is distinguished by its Starry-black exterior color scheme, which replaces chrome accents with gun-metal finishes highlighted by red accents. This transformation encompasses the grille, MG logo, bumper linings, door cladding, tail-lamp trim, and faux skid plates. Furthermore, the headlamps and tail-lamps feature a smoked-out finish, while red highlights adorn the wing mirrors, headlamp enclosures, and brake calipers. Gloss black finishes enhance the 18-inch alloys and roof rails, with the option for customers to add a ‘Blackstorm’ emblem to the front fenders at no additional charge.

Internally, the Hector Blackstorm Edition showcases an all-black theme with gun-metal accents adorning the center console, AC vents, door trims, and steering wheel. The seats are upholstered in black leatherette with ‘Blackstorm’ embossing on the front headrests.

The Hector Blackstorm Edition is available with the petrol-CVT and diesel-MT powertrains. That means you get the 143hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a CVT gearbox, or a 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual. You get the Blackstorm treatment in the 5-, 6- and 7-seater configurations, but the petrol-MT powertrain misses out on this edition.

Derived from the second-from-top Sharp Pro trim, this edition boasts premium features such as a 14-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, digital driver’s display, LED projector headlamps, LED connected tail-lamps, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, push-button engine start/stop, and a smart key.

The introduction of Black Editions is a growing trend in the SUV market, with competitors like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV700, and Jeep Compass offering their own variants.
