Volkswagen’s Cars Set to Get Smarter with ChatGPT Integration

New Delhi: Volkswagen is ushering in a new era in automobile technology by incorporating OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its vehicles. This move, scheduled for the second quarter of 2024, will mark the first time this advanced AI will be available in cars.

This integration aims to make the interaction between drivers and their cars more intuitive and natural. Through ChatGPT, drivers will be able to control various aspects of their vehicles, including navigation, air conditioning, and infotainment systems, using voice commands. Additionally, the AI will provide answers to general knowledge queries posed by vehicle owners.

To ensure privacy and data protection, Volkswagen assures that ChatGPT won’t access any vehicle data or retain conversations. All interactions will be instantly deleted after use.

Initially, this technology will debut in models like Tiguan, Passat, and Golf in Europe before making its way to the US. However, the company hasn’t disclosed plans for its introduction in the Indian market.

This initiative signifies a significant advancement in in-car technology, envisioning a future where vehicles become more interactive and intelligent, enhancing the driving experience.
