HCL South Zone Bridge Open Championship Concludes in Trivandrum
200+ Players from India and Abroad Compete for Rs 4 Lakhs Prize Pool
Trivandrum: The HCL South Zone Bridge Open Championship, organized by the Kairali Bridge Association and supported by HCL, concluded in Trivandrum with impressive participation from over 200 players, making it Kerala’s largest bridge tournament by attendance. Participants included players from across India—such as Bengal and Maharashtra—as well as international players from Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Germany.
Championship Events and Winners
The tournament, held from October 25 to October 27, included:
- Team-of-Four Duplicate: Team Omega, led by R. Krishnan, R. Raghavendra, S. Vijayaraghavan, and Asantha De Mel, won the HCL Rolling Trophy.
- Match Point Pairs: The Mumbai-based father-son team, Anant and Rajesh Somani, took the top spot.
- Swiss Pairs: Sreenivas Makala and Gunaranjan Pemmaraju emerged victorious.
The event highlighted high-level bridge talent, fostering regional engagement and competitive spirit in the sport.
