Asia Cup 2023: Reserve day for India vs Pakistan Super 4 match added with consent from all teams, says BCB.

Delhi: A reserve day for the India-Pakistan contest in the Super 11 Asia Cup Super 4 stage has been added with the consent of all four participating teams, as clarified by the Bangladesh Cricket Board and ACC (Asian Cricket Council).

The tournament, which has been hampered by heavy rain in Sri Lanka, had only one Super Four game scheduled in Pakistan (Pakistan vs Bangladesh), with the remaining games, including the final, scheduled to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The group stage matches proceeded without any interruptions except for the eagerly anticipated India vs. Pakistan encounter in Pallekele, which was washed out. To account for the potential rain on their scheduled match day, organizers decided to include a reserve day on Monday. Originally, only the final match had such a provision in the tournament schedule.

In a statement released by the Pakistan Cricket Board, who is hosting the tournament, it was clarified that in case adverse weather conditions lead to a suspension of play during the Pakistan vs. India game, the match will resume on September 11, 2023, from the point at which it was halted.
