Asian Games 2023:: India wins gold medal after 41 years in Horse Riding.

Delhi: On Day 3 of the Asian Games 2023, India ended its 41-year medal drought at the Asian Games on Tuesday with a magnificent gold medal in the team dressage competition. Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Vipul Chheda, Divyakriti Singh, and Sudipti Hajela, a team of supremely skilled riders, won the historic medal for their nation with 209.205 points, defeating China and Hong Kong, who finished third.

Dressage, often referred to as the captivating art of ‘dancing horses’, represents the pinnacle of horse training and is widely regarded as the most challenging yet artistic discipline within Olympic equestrian sports. In this discipline, both athletes and horses perform a meticulously choreographed sequence of movements at the walk, trot, and canter, with all routines executed entirely from memory.

“It’s unbelievable to have one gold (medal) here. It has not been an easy journey for any of us. To come here, we have worked hard for many, many years. Our families have sacrificed a lot. All of us shifted to the sport at a young age. It has been hard work of our coaches, families, and the whole team behind us,” said Anush after achieving the magnificent feat.
