Australia win by 8 wickets.

Delhi: Mitchell Marsh showcased his exceptional ability to hit sixes by scoring an impressive unbeaten 177 as Australia comfortably defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets in a World Cup match, gearing up for the semifinals. Chasing a target of 307, Australia capitalized on Marsh’s remarkable performance, which included his third ODI century, along with notable contributions from David Warner (53) and Steve Smith (63 not out). The team completed the task with 32 balls to spare. The five-time champions are now set to face South Africa in their semifinal clash in Kolkata on November 16.

Bangladesh managed a score of 306 runs in their 50 overs. Tohid Hridoy was the pick of the Bangladeshi batters, scoring his first world cup half-century during this encounter. Bangladesh batters, however, will look at this total and see that they missed out on another 15-20 runs at least. A lot of Bangladeshi batters got a start but could not capitalize on it. Batters like Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan put up a solid opening stand but got out a score of 36 each instead of taking the innings forward and getting over the 50 or 100 mark.

In their last outing before the semi-finals, Pat Cummins and Co will be looking to keep the momentum going into the knockout stages of the tournament.
