CWC2023::Virat Kohli’s 48th ODI Century Guides India To 4th Consecutive Win.

Delhi: After defeating Bangladesh by seven wickets in the ongoing World Cup match on Thursday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, the Indian side maintained its winning streak. The player to watch with the bat was Virat Kohli, who finished the game unbeaten on 103 runs and helped India win the major competition four times in a row.

Shubman Gill (53) and Rohit Sharma (48) also impressed with the bat. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja claimed two wickets apiece as India restricted Bangladesh to 256 for 8 in 50 overs after stand-in skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bat.

Earlier, the Men in Blue dominated the Bangla Tigers after they added 93 runs for the opening stand. They were eventually restricted to their last four wickets for just over 200 runs. Bangladesh’s last batting duo of Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim was stopped on the back of a special fielding effort by Ravindra Jadeja, whose stunning catch at point gave Jasprit Bumrah his first wicket.

Kohli also became the fastest batter to get to 26,000 international runs. Apart from Kohli, KL Rahul also played well and remained unbeaten on the score of 34 runs. The Karnataka-based batter made sure that Kohli took most of the strike and got to a century.
