Heinrich Klaasen hits 2nd fastest ODI hundred vs Australia in record-breaking 83-ball 174.

Delhi: South Africa wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen has reflected on his ‘special’ innings against Australia on Friday.

Heinrich Klaasen smashed an outrageous 83-ball 174 to propel South Africa to a 164-run win over Australia in the fourth one-day international, leaving the series tied ,at 2-2 heading into the finale. He was caught on the boundary rope off the final ball of the innings, by which time he’d guided the South Africans to their third-highest ODI total.

The 32-year-old smashed three sixes in Adam zampa’s final over as the leg-spinner finished with figures of 10-0-113-0, the joint-most expensive figures in ODI cricket. He added 222 with David Miller before Marcus stoinis dismissed him in the 50th over of the innings. Miller and Klaasen added a record 173 runs in the last 10 overs.
Thanks to Heinrich Klaasen’s record-breaking effort, South Africa posted the highest total in the history of ODI cricket at SuperSport Park in Centurion – 416 for 5 in 50 overs.Australia was bowled out for 252 in 34.5 overs and has seen its 2-0 lead wiped out in the five-match series ahead of the Cricket World Cup in India next month.
