India vs Sri Lanka 2nd T20I Highlights: Ravi Bishnoi Shines as India Clinches Series
New Delhi: In a rain-affected second T20I match in Pallekele, India secured a commanding seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka, sealing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The victory, achieved through the DLS method, was marked by a dominant performance from Ravi Bishnoi, whose outstanding bowling figures of 3 for 26 played a pivotal role in restricting Sri Lanka to 161 for 9.
The match, which was significantly impacted by weather conditions, saw India chasing a revised target of 78 runs in 8 overs. Despite a rain delay, the Indian team successfully reached the target in just 6.3 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was instrumental in the chase, contributing a quick 30 off 15 balls. His aggressive innings ensured that the Indian team remained on track despite early challenges.
Sri Lanka, batting first, struggled to build a substantial innings after being put in to bat by India. Kusal Perera emerged as the top scorer for the hosts with a solid 53 off 34 balls, while Pathum Nissanka provided support with a valuable 32 off 24 balls. However, Sri Lanka faltered in the latter stages of their innings, losing their way from a promising position of 130 for 2 to finish at 161 for 9.
Indian bowlers made significant contributions in the latter part of Sri Lanka’s innings. Alongside Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh (2/24), Hardik Pandya (2/23), and Axar Patel (2/30) each claimed two wickets, further dismantling the Sri Lankan batting lineup.
With this victory, India has now clinched the series, leaving Sri Lanka with little chance to mount a comeback in the final T20I.
