Indian men’s squad announced for home series against Australia.

Delhi: Ajit Agarkar, the top selector for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has named two separate sides for the ODI series against Australia. For the first two ODIs, superstars like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya were rested; however, India will field a complete team for the third and final ODI. KL Rahul will captain India for the first two games, with Ravindra Jadeja serving as his backup.

India captain Rohit Sharma and batting lynchpin Virat Kohli have been rested for the first two games to keep them fresh before the ODI WC, and also to test the side’s bench strength before the marquee tournament begins. Rohit and Virat will return to the 17-member India squad for the third and final ODI.

India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was included in the 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Australia announced on Monday. Ashwin has also been included in the 17-member squad for the third ODI, Ruturaj Gaikwad has also been named for the first two ODIs and will most probably operate in the opening slot alongside Shubman Gill. Ishan Kishan. who has rather been preferred in the middle-order, should ideally continue at the number 4 or 5 position.
