IPL 2024 Retention Day Live, Trading Window Closes Today

Delhi: November 26 marks the pivotal deadline for Indian Premier League (IPL) teams to solidify their player retention for the 2024 season. This date holds substantial significance as it shapes the roster compositions for the upcoming season, playing a crucial role in team strategies and potentially influencing performances in the IPL.

There are discussions about Hardik Pandya making a comeback to Mumbai Indians, the team where he initially started his IPL career. Following two seasons with Gujarat Titans, there’s speculation of his return, possibly as a successor to Rohit Sharma, who will turn 37 next year. While the official confirmation is yet to be made, there’s a cash-only deal being considered, with an amount of ₹15 crore being proposed.

Shardul Thakur, who scored 113 runs and took seven wickets in 11 matches for Kolkata Knight Riders last season, is likely to be released. This move could free up ₹10.75 crore for the team, boosting their total purse to 15.75 crore

Delhi Capitals have decided to release players Sarfaraz Khan and Manish Pandey. This could open up new opportunities for them in the upcoming season.

The IPL auction, scheduled for December 19, might occur outside India, with Dubai a leading contender to host. The event is expected to showcase star players, attracting attention for lucrative deals from the 10 franchises.
