National Games 2023 :

Delhi: Maharashtra currently lead the National Games 2023 medals table with 13 medals — three gold, six silvers and four bronze.

The National Games 2023, India’s own Olympic-inspired multi-sport tournament, is now ongoing in five Goan cities: Mapusa, Margao, Panjim, Ponda, and Vasco.

Athletes from 28 states, eight union territories, and the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) compete in the 37th National Games, which closes on November 9. For the first time in its history, Goa is hosting the National Games.

Over 10,000 athletes – around 3,000 more than the previous edition in Gujarat – are competing across 43 sports, which include traditional Olympic disciplines as well as indigenous sports like mallakhamb, kho kho and kabaddi, amongst others.

The complete list of sports that are being competed at the National Games 2023 in Goa are as follows: aquatics, archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, beach handball, beach football, billiards and snooker, boxing, canoeing, cycling, fencing, football, gatka, golf, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, kabaddi, kalaripayattu, kho-kho, lagori, lawn bowls, lawn tennis, mallakhamb, mini golf, modern pentathlon, netball, pencak silat, roll ball, rowing, rugby, sepaktakraw, shooting, squay martial arts, squash, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, wushu, yachting, yogasana.
