NZ all out at 167, SA win by 190 runs.

Delhi: New Zealand had won the toss and chosen to bowl first in Pune. The Black Caps brought in Tim Southee for Lockie Ferguson, who is yet to regain full fitness. Kagiso Rabada returned for South Africa and he replaced Tabraiz Shamsi. South Africa have continued their march towards the semifinals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with a 190-run win over fellow contenders New Zealand at Pune’s MCA Stadium.

SA innings:

Helped by centuries from Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen, the Proteas posted 357-4 after being asked to bat first by New Zealand stand-in captain Tom Latham on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, batting first, batting first, Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen slammed centuries to take South Africa score to 357/4 after 50 overs. David Miller ensured a good finish to the team and Aiden Markram also scored a massive SIX on the final ball of the innings. From New Zealand’s side, Trent Boult has been quite economical today while Tim Southee clinched 2 wickets.

NZ innings:

The Kiwis kept losing their wickets from the very beginning, as the Proteas bowlers didn’t lose their line and length.Apart from Glenn Phillips (60), Will Young (33) and Daryl Mitchell (24), no other batter could reach a double digit mark for New Zealand.

For South Africa, Keshav Maharaj took 4 wickets, Marco Jansen picked 3 wickets, Gerald Coetzee clinched 2 wickets and Kagiso Rabada picked one wicket.

New Zealand slipped to 4th position with 8 points and its NRR is +0.484. Australia is at the third position with 8 points, and its NRR is +0.970

After this win over New Zealand, South africa is leading the ICC World Cup 2023 point table with 12 points and its Net Run Rate is +2.290, while India is at the second position with same points, but it’s NRR is +1.405.
