Pakistani journalist covering World Cup deported from India for ‘anti-Hindu’ tweet.

Delhi: Renowned Pakistani presenter Zainad Abbas, who was in India to cover the ICC World Cup 2023, has reportedly flown back to Pakistan over safety concerns, as an Indian lawyer has filed a legal case against her after her old ‘Anti-India tweets.’

Old tweets from Zainab that denigrated a Hindu goddess and disparaged those who follow the faith have since gone viral on social media.  A lawyer named Vinit Jindal filed a lawsuit against her after the problem grew out of control.

In his complaint, Vineet Jindal wrote: “Complaint letter sent by @vineetJindal19 to @BCCI and @HMOIndia seeking removal of Zainab Abbas @ZAbbasOfficial as the presenter at the ICC World Cup 2023 for her derogatory and provocative posts against Bharat and Hindu Dharma. ‘Athiti devo bhava’ only for those who respect our country & Hindu Dharma but Anti Bharatiya are not welcome on Our Land.”
