Team India arrives in Lucknow ahead of England clash, receives warm welcome
Delhi: The Indian cricket team was greeted warmly when they arrived in Lucknow ahead of their World Cup match against England on October 25.
Team India has been performing admirably at the ICC World Cup 2023. They are the only undefeated team among the ten participating nations, topping the points table with five victories in five matches.
India’s winning streak continued against Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh before they displaced New Zealand from the top spot after their impressive win Dharamsala on October 22. England, on the other hand, are struggling at the moment following a disastrous start to their World Cup title defence.
Hardik Pandya is out of the India vs. England match in Lucknow due to an injury sustained during the India vs. Bangladesh encounter. Pandya is now receiving treatment at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Virat Kohli is currently the highest run-getter for India with 354 runs in five matches, including one century and three fifties. Rohit Sharma is at the second spot in highest run-scorer list for India with 311 runs in five matches. He has been runs at a strike rate of 133.47, hitting one century and one fifty.
