Android 15 Set to Revolutionize Audio Sharing: What You Need to Know

New Delhi: Android 15 is gearing up to revolutionize the way we share audio, with a dedicated “audio sharing” page making its debut. This exciting feature leverages Auracast, a component of the Bluetooth LE Audio standard, promising seamless sharing without the hassle of complex pairing.

Although Auracast was introduced over a year and a half ago, its adoption has been slow due to the limited availability of compatible headsets. However, 2024 is poised to see a surge in support as accessory manufacturers align with smartphone advancements.

Google’s upcoming Android update will introduce an “audio sharing” page accessible via Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences. This streamlined interface aims to simplify sharing and connecting to nearby LE Audio streams.

Key features of the new page include a toggle switch for initiating audio sharing, a QR code scanner for quick connections, device selection options, and a list of available audio streams nearby. While exact functionalities are yet to be fully revealed, this move promises an enhanced user experience.

In addition to audio sharing, Android 15 is expected to reintroduce lock screen widgets, the ability to save multi-app pairs, and a Private Space feature for securing sensitive apps. Google also plans to enhance battery health insights for users.

As we anticipate the release of Android 15, more features are expected to surface in the coming months. While some may not make it to the final release, the evolution of Android promises exciting enhancements for users worldwide. Stay tuned for updates on India Today Tech.
