Apple Watch to Get Custom Ringtone Feature with watchOS 11 Update

Apple Watch users can only choose from the two existing cellular ringtones right now

The upcoming watchOS 11 update will finally let Apple Watch users change the default ringtone, adding a much-awaited customization feature. This was announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 on June 10.

Change Ringtones with watchOS 11

Currently, Apple Watch users are stuck with a single ringtone, but the watchOS 11 update will change that. Users will soon be able to choose from eight different ringtones:

– Pebbles (Cellular ringtone)

– Focus

– Jingle (original ringtone)

– Nighthawk

– Transmit

– Twirl

– Windup

– Wonder

In addition to ringtones, users will also have the option to set different tones for alerts, notifications, and reminders for text messages, emails, and more. However, setting specific ringtones for individual contacts is still not possible.

Other New Features in watchOS 11

The watchOS 11 update will also bring:

– Automatic Sleep Tracking: The watch will now track sleep automatically without needing to activate Sleep Focus mode.

– Smart Stack Widget for Shazam: A new shortcut for quicker music searches, enhancing the existing app and Siri functionality.

 watchOS 11 Availability

The watchOS 11 developer beta is already available through the Apple Developer Program. The public update will roll out later this year for Apple Watch Series 6 and later models.

This update promises to enhance the Apple Watch experience with greater customization and new features, making it an exciting development for users.
