Audi Q6L e-tron to Debut Globally at Beijing Motor Show 2024

New Delhi: Audi is gearing up for a significant presence at the upcoming Auto China 2024 to be held in Beijing from April 24 to May 4, 2024. While the models displayed will specifically cater to the Chinese market, Audi’s display will provide insight into its future EV plans not only for China but for other international markets as well. Audi has confirmed the debut of at least three models: the Q6L e-tron, the Q5 e-tron RS Edition and the SQ6.

Set to make its debut in China, the Audi Q6L e-tron will introduce Audi’s all-electric PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture in the country. Notably, China is the only market where the Q6 gets the long wheelbase version. While specific details about the differences between the Q6L and the standard Q6 overseas are scarce, it is anticipated that the 100kWh battery powering the 387hp electric motors and offering a WLTP range of 625km will remain unchanged.

Additionally, Audi Auto China will unveil the SQ6 e-tron in 2024, another model based on the PPE platform. This sporty variant of the Q6 boasts more powerful motors, delivering 490hp, and up to 580km of WLTP range from the same 100kWh battery pack. With several design enhancements and the S badge, reflecting its performance-oriented nature, the SQ6 e-tron promises an exciting driving experience.

The China-exclusive model Q5 e-tron RS will also be showcased at the event. Initially based on VW’s MEB platform, the Q5 e-tron marks Audi’s entry into the three-row e-tron SUV in China. It is important to note that the Q5 e-tron is different from the petrol-powered Q5 available in India, as the former is based on VW Group’s MLB platform. Variants like the Q5 40 e-tron and Q5 50 e-tron quattro are expected to offer even more power while maintaining the Q5 e-tron RS’ single and dual-motor setup, respectively, powered by an 83.4kWh battery pack. Same battery pack.

In short, Audi’s participation in the Beijing Motor Show 2024 underlines its commitment to electrification and innovation, especially in key markets like China. The introduction of the Q6L e-tron and other models symbolizes Audi’s ongoing efforts to lead the way towards sustainable mobility solutions globally.
