Empowering Green Innovation: Aloe Ecell’s Eco-Friendly Primary Batteries Garner Support from TDB.

Delhi: In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s forward-thinking project called ‘Mission LiFE’ (Lifestyle for Environment), the Technology Development Board (TDB) is pleased to declare its partnership with M/s Aloe Ecell Pvt. Ltd., an inventive startup based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. This strategic collaboration stands out as a symbol of advancement, effectively echoing the Prime Minister’s appeal for sustainable methods and homegrown ingenuity.

Remaining steadfast in its dedication to endorsing inventive solutions aligned with ‘Mission LiFE,’ the Technology Development Board (TDB) is extending its support to Aloe Ecell Pvt. Ltd.’s initiative, titled “Commercialization of Eco-friendly 1.5V AA size Aloe Vera-based batteries.” This collaboration, valued at Rs. 2.98 crores, sees TDB providing a substantial soft loan of Rs. 1.91 crores, further amplifying the project’s potential to elevate eco-friendly innovation.

Aloe Ecell, with its ingenious approach, is set to develop an environmentally friendly 1.5V AA size battery, marking a departure from the conventional counterparts riddled with heavy metals and harmful chemicals. By harnessing the inherent properties of Aloe Vera, the company has devised an electrolyte that not only matches the performance standards of established market offerings but also champions ecological responsibility. The company intends to establish production facilities for primary batteries in Bundi, Rajasthan.

The fundamental objective of this project seamlessly aligns with the underlying principles of ‘Mission LiFE’ – promoting lifestyle choices that coexist harmoniously with ecological well-being. Through its pioneering work on eco-friendly primary batteries, Aloe ECell has the potential to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment while addressing long-standing concerns regarding the toxic components found in conventional batteries. Aloe ECell’s remarkable journey has already garnered recognition, including the Energy Sector 2020 National Startup Award from Startup India under DPIIT, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, and the 2019 Global Winners award from Schneider Electric.
