Force Gurkha 5-Door Teased Ahead of Mid-2024 Launch, Set to Introduce Significant Updates
New Delhi: Force Motors has released the first teaser of the upcoming Gurkha 5-door SUV. According to Autocar India, after undergoing extensive testing, the Gurkha 5-door is set to be launched in India by mid-2024.
The Gurkha 5-door will have several cosmetic changes compared to the 3-door variant, including new square headlamps in place of circular headlamps while retaining the two-slat grille. Additionally, it will come with 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, which will be larger than the 16-inch ones on the 3-door version. Minor changes are also expected in the front and rear bumpers.
Inside, the cabin layout will likely remain unchanged, but the Gurkha 5-door will feature a shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob next to the driver’s seat on the center console, replacing separate front and rear diff-lock levers. 3-door version. Powering the Gurkha 5-door is expected to be the same Mercedes-sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, similar to the 3-door version.
The launch of the Force Gurkha 5-door is expected to take place in the first quarter of the next financial year. Although it will not have any direct rivals upon its arrival, it will compete with models like the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door, which are scheduled to launch around the same time.
The Gurkha 5-door is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh-1.5 lakh more than the 3-door variant, which had a last known price of Rs 15.10 lakh (ex-showroom) before becoming unavailable following the implementation of BS6. Stage II Emission Criteria.
