Honda Elevate SUV Soars: 7,000 Units Exported to Japan!

New Delhi: In a remarkable achievement, Honda Car India’s Elevate SUV has taken the market by storm, with around 7,000 units exported to Japan. Since its launch in India in September 2023, the Elevate has been a driving force, contributing significantly to Honda’s sales figures.

With a total of 30,365 units shipped to dealerships in India, the Elevate has established itself as Honda’s second-best-selling model. Its popularity is evident, accounting for 38 percent of Honda Cars India’s total passenger vehicle dispatches. This impressive performance puts the Elevate in a league of its own, competing stiffly in the mid-size SUV segment against formidable rivals like the Hyundai Creta and others.

What sets Elevate apart is not only its domestic success but also its international appeal. The Elevate, exported to Japan under the ‘WR-V’ (Winsome Runabout Vehicle) moniker, showcases India’s manufacturing capability on the global stage. With the same powerful 1.5-litre engine, the WR-V features subtle modifications to suit Japanese preferences, including an all-black interior and a customized infotainment system.

The decision to export the Elevate to Japan has proven to be a strategic masterstroke for Honda. With plans to start sales in Japan on March 22, 2024 and a target of 3,000 units per month, Honda Motor Co. aims to capitalize on the popularity of SUVs and meet the growing demand in the Japanese market.

Additionally, Honda’s export strategy underlines India’s growing importance as a global manufacturing hub. By leveraging India’s manufacturing capabilities, Honda aims to meet the growing demand for SUVs across the globe, thereby establishing itself as a major player in the international automotive landscape.

As the Elevate continues to scale new heights, it not only symbolizes Honda’s success but also reaffirms India’s position as a leading exporter of high-quality vehicles. With its blend of performance, style and versatility, the Elevate is set to make a lasting impact both at home and abroad, taking Honda’s success story forward.
