Hyundai Expands Venue Lineup with New S(O) Plus Variant at Rs 10 Lakh
New Delhi: Hyundai has introduced a new mid-spec variant of its Venue SUV, the S(O) Plus, priced at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This new variant aims to make the sunroof-equipped option more accessible, slotting between the existing S(O) and SX variants.
Enhanced Features and Specifications
The Venue S(O) Plus is the most affordable variant in the Venue lineup to feature a sunroof, making it an attractive choice for buyers seeking a premium touch at a reasonable price. Priced Rs 1.05 lakh less than the SX variant that also comes with a sunroof, the S(O) Plus retains many features from the S(O) variant while adding the new sunroof.
In terms of specifications, the Venue S(O) Plus is exclusively available with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Unlike some other variants, which offer a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with various transmission options, the S(O) Plus is limited to this engine and gearbox combination.
Feature Set and Safety
The S(O) Plus variant inherits the S(O) trim’s features, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and manual air conditioning. It also includes safety essentials such as six airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and a rear parking camera.
The exterior of the Venue S(O) Plus comes equipped with auto-LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and an LED tail light with a connecting bar design. The vehicle continues to use 15-inch steel wheels and body-colored outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), consistent with the S(O) variant.
Market Position
The Hyundai Venue range now spans from Rs 7.94 lakh to Rs 13.44 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With the addition of the S(O) Plus variant, Hyundai aims to offer a more cost-effective option for those interested in the premium features typically found in higher trims. This strategic update strengthens the Venue’s position in the competitive sub-4 metre SUV segment, appealing to buyers looking for a blend of value and style.
