Implementing Personal Voice Integration: Truecaller’s Collaboration with Microsoft for Enhanced AI Assistant Functionality
New Delhi: Truecaller has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to enhance its AI-powered AI Assistant by integrating Microsoft’s Azure AI Speech feature, Personal Voice. This partnership will enable the AI Assistant to replicate the user’s voice when screening or responding to calls. Initially launched in September 2022, the AI Assistant can screen calls, respond on behalf of the user, take messages, and record calls for later playback, similar to voicemail.
Previously, the AI Assistant offered a limited selection of voices, which could be jarring for callers hearing an unfamiliar voice. The introduction of Personal Voice addresses this issue by allowing users to create a digital version of their own voice for the AI Assistant. This personalized feature is now available to Truecaller Premium users in the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa, India, Sweden, and Chile, with plans for expansion to additional regions in the near future. Truecaller made the announcement via a community post, stating, “With the addition of Microsoft’s Personal Voice, users of the Truecaller Assistant can now create a completely digital version of their own voice to use inside the Assistant.” The new feature aims to provide a more seamless and familiar experience for both the user and the caller.
