iPhone 14 users get an additional free year of Apple’s Emergency SOS via satellite feature
Delhi: Apple iPhone 14 users will now benefit from an extra year of the Emergency SOS via satellite feature, granting them the ability to contact emergency services even in the absence of a cellular or Wi-Fi connection. Apple has recently declared this complimentary extension, providing two additional years of satellite-linked communication for iPhone 14 users at no charge. The introduction of the Emergency SOS via satellite feature was initially announced by Apple on November 15 of the previous year. Initially launched with all iPhone 14 models in the US and Canada, this feature has now been extended to the iPhone 15 lineup, reaching 16 countries and regions worldwide.
Apple has yet to reveal how much the feature will cost when the free period ends. However, this extension gives the company more time to decide on pricing.
“Emergency SOS via satellite has helped save lives around the world. From a man who was rescued after his car plummeted over a 400-foot cliff in Los Angeles, to lost hikers found in the Apennine Mountains in Italy, we continue to hear stories of our customers being able to connect with emergency responders when they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to,” Kaiann Drance,“We are so happy iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users can take advantage of this groundbreaking service for two more years for free” Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, said in a statement.
