New Features for the Action Button
The iPhone 15 Pro’s Action button, which replaced the mute switch, currently offers nine preset functions like Voice Memo, Camera, and Silent Mode. With iOS 18, users will soon be able to access even more features. The new options include:

Control Center Updates
In addition to enhancing the Action button, iOS 18 also brings a major overhaul to the Control Center. One of the exciting new features includes the ability to access camera functions in third-party apps, even when the device is locked. This is made possible through a new framework called “LockedCameraCapture,” which developers can use to create extensions for quick content capture.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, released in 2023, were the first to feature the Action button, adding a new level of convenience and customization for users. These updates with iOS 18 are set to make the Action button even more useful and versatile.
