Kia Seltos Facelift Fuel Efficiency Figures Unveiled

New Delhi: Kia has unveiled the fuel efficiency ratings for the revamped Seltos in India, featuring updated styling, enhanced features, and a new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine. All variants of the Seltos now come standard with an idle engine start/stop system, contributing to improved fuel efficiency.

Fuel Efficiency Breakdown

The Seltos lineup offers a variety of powertrains, each with its fuel efficiency ratings:

• The entry-level 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, available with a 6-speed manual or CVT gearbox, achieves 17.0kpl and 17.7kpl, respectively.
• The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering 160hp, is paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. It returns 17.7kpl and 17.9kpl, respectively, outperforming its predecessor.
• The 1.5-litre diesel engine, generating 116hp, offers the highest fuel efficiency in the Seltos range. Equipped with a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, it achieves 20.7kpl and 19.1kpl, respectively.

Comparison with Competitors

Compared to its rivals, the Seltos demonstrates competitive fuel efficiency:

• The Honda Elevate, a recent addition to the midsize SUV segment, boasts slightly lower fuel efficiency ratings of 15.31kpl for the petrol-MT and 16.92kpl for the petrol-CVT.
• The Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq, equipped with turbo-petrol engines, achieve 18.47kpl and 17.88kpl (manual) and 17.95kpl and 17.70kpl (automatic), respectively.
• The Hyundai Creta, featuring a diesel engine like the Seltos, achieves 21.4kpl (manual) and 18.5kpl (automatic), with both models utilizing the same diesel engine.
