Leak: Sony Xperia 1 VI to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, Triple Rear Cameras, and More !

New Delhi: The upcoming Sony Xperia 1 VI is anticipated to make its debut on May 17, and ahead of its launch, a recent report has surfaced, leaking the design and key specifications of the device. According to the leak, the Xperia 1 VI will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and will feature an OLED display with a variable refresh rate. The device is also expected to come with a triple rear camera setup, including a 16mm ultrawide sensor. Additionally, Sony is rumored to streamline its camera apps on the Xperia 1 VI.

Reportedly, the Xperia 1 VI will be available in black and platinum silver colors, sporting a triple camera setup at the rear and frosted textured glass on the back. The device is said to feature an upgraded OLED display that is 1.5 times brighter than its predecessor, the Xperia 1 V. The display is expected to offer a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, and support for Sunlight vision mode and Bravia HDR remaster technology. Under the hood, the Xperia 1 VI is likely to house a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, with improvements in heat diffusion and vapor chamber to prevent overheating.

In terms of optics, the Xperia 1 VI is rumored to boast a triple rear camera setup, including an ultra-wide-angle 16mm lens, a wide-angle 24mm lens, and a telephoto zoom 85-170mm lens. Sony may equip the 24mm lens with its “Exmor T for mobile” stacked CMOS image sensor. Additionally, Sony is expected to replace its Photography Pro, Videography Pro, and Cinema Pro apps with a single app inspired by its Alpha series cameras.

Other features of the Xperia 1 VI may include a 5,000mAh battery with wireless and reverse wireless charging support, gaming enhancements such as a 240Hz touch sampling rate, adjustable white balance, and an FPS optimizer, and a high-performance audio chip supporting various audio technologies. Buyers may also receive one year of free Sony Pictures movie streaming and access to remastered Sony movie titles with IMAX video and DTS sound in select regions.
