New Delhi: Oppo is gearing up for the global launch of the Reno 12 series, following its initial unveiling in China last month. While a specific launch date remains under wraps, a recent leak by tipster offers a glimpse into the design and specifications of both the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro models.

Design: Flat Edges and Curved Displays

The leaked renders showcase a design language that closely resembles the Chinese variants. However, a key distinction emerges in the standard Oppo Reno 12. Unlike its Chinese counterpart boasting a four-curved-edge display, the global model appears to feature a display curved only on the left and right sides, maintaining flat edges. Both models are expected to sport a triple rear camera setup and a flat-edged design, with the volume and power buttons conveniently located on the right edge. The leaked images showcase two of the three colorways available in China.

Specifications: Powerful Performance and Vivid Displays

The leaked specifications sheet sheds light on the hardware powering these devices. Both the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro are expected to boast 6.7-inch Full-HD+ (1080×2412 pixels) 3D AMOLED displays with a high refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits. The displays are further protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 7i and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro models, respectively.

Under the hood, the devices are rumored to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC coupled with a Mali G615 GPU. This powerful combination is paired with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and offers up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and ample storage space. Out of the box, the phones are expected to run on Android 14-based ColorOS 14.1, offering the latest software experience. Additionally, they are said to boast an IP65 rating, signifying dust and splash resistance.

Camera System: Capture Stunning Photos and Videos

The camera department seems promising, with both models featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor (Sony LYT-600) with optical image stabilization for capturing sharp and clear photos. They are also expected to include an 8-megapixel ultrawide-angle camera with an IMX355 sensor for capturing expansive landscapes.

However, the Pro variant takes things a step further by incorporating a 50-megapixel telephoto camera for enhanced zoom capabilities. The standard model settles for a 2-megapixel macro camera, while both models boast a front-facing camera – a 32-megapixel sensor on the Reno 12 and a 50-megapixel sensor on the Pro variant.

Long-Lasting Battery and Speedy Charging

Endurance is likely to be a strong point, with both devices equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. The leak also reveals support for 80W SuperVOOC charging, promising to juice up the phones from 0 to 100 percent in just 46 minutes. Connectivity options are said to include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and dual nano SIM slots.

With the global launch imminent, the Oppo Reno 12 series appears well-positioned to entice users seeking a powerful and feature-rich smartphone experience.
