Poco and Airtel Join Hands to Bring Affordable 5G Phone to India
New Delhi: Poco, in collaboration with Airtel, is gearing up to launch the ‘Most Affordable 5G Device’ in India. Last year, Poco introduced an exclusive variant of the Poco C51 with Airtel, and now, they’re extending their partnership to unveil a new budget-friendly 5G smartphone.
Himanshu Tandon, Poco India Head, teased the upcoming handset on X (formerly Twitter), hinting at another exciting partnership with Airtel. This new device won’t be just another version of an existing phone but something entirely new. While responding to queries, Tandon suggested that it won’t be a version of the Poco M6 5G but a distinct device.
The previous collaboration between Poco and Airtel resulted in the Airtel-exclusive Poco C51, which offered exclusive benefits along with an Airtel Prepaid connection. The phone boasts features like MediaTek Helio G36 SoC and a hefty 5,000mAh battery, catering to the needs of budget-conscious users.
The Poco C51, initially launched in April last year, received an Airtel-exclusive version in July at an even more affordable price. It sports a 6.52-inch HD+ display and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G36 SoC. The phone also comes with a dual rear camera setup and a decent 5-megapixel front camera.
With the promise of affordability and the power of 5G, the upcoming Poco device under the partnership with Airtel aims to provide Indian consumers with access to next-generation connectivity at an unbeatable price point.
