Price and specifications leaked for the Google Pixel 8a, possibly before its anticipated release. See the specifics below.
New Delhi: Speculation surrounding the forthcoming release of Google’s Pixel 8a has intensified, indicating a potential launch in May. The mid-range smartphone is rumored to carry a higher price compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, particularly in the European Union. According to a report by German publication Winfuture.de, the base model of the Pixel 8a with 128GB storage could start at EUR 570 (approximately Rs. 51,000), while the 256GB variant may retail for EUR 630 (roughly Rs. 56,000). These leaked prices represent a significant increase compared to the Pixel 7a’s starting price of EUR 499 (about Rs. 45,000).
The Pixel 8a is said to come in four color options: bay (light blue), mint (light green), obsidian (black), and porcelain (beige), though it remains unclear if all colors will be available for both storage options. In May of the previous year, Google introduced the Pixel 7a in India, priced at Rs. 43,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. If the rumored prices for the Pixel 8a hold true, it could position the device as competition against other smartphones such as the OnePlus 12R, Nothing Phone 2, and the Galaxy S23 FE.
Reports suggest that Google is likely to unveil the Pixel 8a during its May I/O event. The smartphone is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and run on Google’s Tensor G3 SoC. It is expected to come with 8GB of RAM. Additionally, the Pixel 8a is speculated to include a 5,000mAh battery with support for 27W wired fast charging. The device is said to have dimensions of 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9mm. However, these details have not been officially confirmed by Google. Stay tuned for more updates on the Pixel 8a as further information becomes available.
