Skoda Kushaq Explorer Edition Unveiled with Off-Road Enhancements

New Delhi: Skoda has revealed plans for an all-new compact SUV and introduced a special Kushaq Explorer Edition. The Explorer Edition boasts unique outdoor-inspired cosmetic upgrades and additional interior features based on the top-spec Style trim. However, there is no confirmation yet regarding its release in the market.

Exterior Design

The Kushaq Explorer Edition sports an attractive matte green exterior with orange paint on the grille, front bumper, rear spoiler and side body cladding. The grille, wing mirrors and badges get a contrasting black finish.

Functional off-road enhancements include 215/65 section all-terrain tyres mounted on new black 16-inch wheels, which offer a taller profile than the Style trim’s standard 205/55 R17 tyres. Additional upgrades include a roof rack with an auxiliary light bar and orange tow hooks front and rear.

Internal Features

Inside, the matte green theme extends to the dashboard panel, centre console area and door pads, complemented by black upholstery with red piping on the seats. The Explorer edition inherits equipment from the Style trim, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital dials, ventilated seats, sunroof and others. New additions include an improved rear camera, front parking sensors, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera with a rear sunshade and an air purifier.

Powertrain Options

Mechanically, the Kushaq Explorer Edition remains unchanged, offering 115hp, 1.0-litre and 150hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines with manual and automatic gearboxes respectively. Ride height may differ from standard SUVs due to off-road specification wheels.

This is the third special edition of the Kushaq that Skoda is possibly considering launching in the market, after the Monte Carlo and Matte Edition models.
