Skoda Superb Returns to India as CBU, Priced at Rs 54 Lakh
New Delhi: Skoda has reintroduced the current-generation Superb in India, marking its comeback after nearly a year. Priced at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom), the Superb makes a limited appearance with only 100 units available in the country. Notably, this reintroduction features the second-generation model, not the all-new third-generation variant unveiled globally last November.
What’s New in the 2024 Skoda Superb:
- Limited to the top-spec L&K trim.
- Incorporates dynamic chassis control technology.
- Employs a BS6.2 compliant 190hp 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine.
The 2024 Skoda Superb, now exclusively offered in the fully loaded L&K variant, brings enhancements over its predecessor. Noteworthy additions include Skoda’s dynamic chassis control technology and an active tyre pressure monitoring system, complemented by nine airbags for enhanced safety.
Customers can opt for the 2024 Skoda Superb in three exterior paint shades – Rosso Brunello (New), Water World Green (New), and Magic Black, accompanied by 18-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, the Indian variant of the 2024 Superb is equipped with a 9-inch Columbus Infotainment system, a feature not previously available.
Powertrain Details:
The Skoda Superb is powered by a BS6 Phase II-compliant 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine generating 190hp and 320Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, it offers the same performance as its predecessor.
What’s Next for Skoda India:
While the reintroduced Superb caters to the higher end of the market, Skoda plans to unveil an all-new compact SUV to compete with models like the Brezza, Venue, and Sonet.
As Skoda continues to innovate and expand its offerings, the return of the Superb signifies a strategic move in the Indian automotive landscape, offering enthusiasts a blend of luxury and performance.
