Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid Waiting Period Set to Decrease

New Delhi: Toyota has announced measures to tackle the soaring waiting period for the Innova Hycross hybrid, aiming to reduce it to less than six months by the end of the year.

The Innova Hycross Hybrid has seen tremendous demand since its launch, with more than 50 percent of sales being attributable to the hybrid variant. Customers are attracted to its fuel efficiency and quiet cabin, which provides an electric vehicle (EV)-like experience while enjoying the benefits of a hybrid.

Even in the fleet segment, the hybrid variant has proven popular despite its higher price, due to its wide mileage capabilities and excellent fuel economy.

Toyota has faced challenges in meeting the high demand for the hybrid Innova Hycross. Customers have had to wait longer due to supply issues, including limited production capacity and semiconductor shortages. Additionally, logistics factors such as production allocation for Maruti Suzuki Invicto have put further pressure on production capacity.

To address waiting periods, Toyota implemented a third shift at its plant, increased capacity by 32 percent, and focused on producing more hybrid variants. Efforts have also been made to streamline internal processes to increase production efficiency and resolve supply chain bottlenecks.

Toyota estimates that the impact of these measures will be noticeable within the next six months, making waiting periods more manageable for customers.

Despite the government’s push towards electric vehicles, hybrids have gained significant popularity in the market due to their convenience, affordability and existing infrastructure support. Consumers are opting for sustainability without compromising practicality.

As Toyota streamlines its operations, the Innova Hycross Hybrid is set to meet the growing needs of customers, offering a compelling blend of efficiency and performance in the Indian market.
