Unleash Your Adventurous Spirit with the Jeep Wrangler: A High-Riding Off-Roader with Versatility and Off-Road Prowess

New Delhi: The Jeep Wrangler is a versatile high-riding off-roader that combines character with everyday usability. Besides being assembled in the USA, it is also produced in India. The Wrangler comes in two versions: Unlimited, which is more road-focused, and Rubicon, which excels in off-road capabilities.

Starting with a base price of Rs. 62.64 Lakh and going up to Rs. 66.64 Lakh (Avg. ex-showroom), the Wrangler offers two variants to choose from. The Rubicon stands out for its impressive off-road capabilities, boasting a range of off-road features as standard. These include heavy-duty Dana 44 solid axles, a sophisticated transfer case with locking front and rear differentials, heavy-duty shocks, a full-time transfer case with a low-range gear, and 255/75 R17 knobby tires. Additionally, a switch on the dash allows for electronic disconnection of the front sway bar, providing 30% more suspension travel.

The Rubicon version of the Wrangler is not only capable off-road but also offers an enjoyable driving experience. It is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine delivering 268bhp of power and 400Nm of maximum torque. This powertrain is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox sourced from ZF.

When taken off-road, the Wrangler truly shines. It boasts exceptional ground clearance, large tires, and robust off-road hardware. The combination of its stock ride height, knobby tires, and sophisticated drivetrain instills remarkable confidence in the driver. Moreover, its good approach and departure angles make it easy to navigate unfamiliar trails.

In terms of appearance, the Wrangler’s form factor and ride height provide it with unmatched road presence. It stands out and impresses with its towering presence over other vehicles. As a lifestyle vehicle, it offers a sense of flaunt-worthy style that captures everyone’s attention. Its street presence is truly imposing.

The Wrangler is equipped with front and side airbags, high-strength steel beams for side impact performance, disc brakes all-around, and rear parking assist. Starting from 2022, changes were made to the front structure of the vehicle to prevent tipping in small overlap crashes.

Contrary to expectations, the Wrangler does not compromise on cabin space and features. It goes beyond the basic expectations of a hardcore 4×4. The interior is furnished with leather upholstery and features all-four power windows, despite the removable doors. It also offers dual-zone climate control, an eight-speaker music system, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with voice command, navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Storage-wise, the Wrangler provides two large cup holders and a spacious storage compartment under the armrest. The removable doors feature a thin net for storing small items. The rear seats are upright with limited adjustments and have a relatively short seat base length. Additional amenities include a foldable armrest with cup holders, two USB ports, and a 12V output.

The Wrangler offers a large and cavernous boot. Its distinctive feature lies in the easily removable roof and doors. With just a few latches, the front-row roof can be detached on the go, allowing for an open-air driving experience.
