Vivo Folds in the Fun: X Fold 3 Pro Arrives in India!
New Delhi: Foldable phones are the new trend, and Vivo is joining the party! After the success of foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and OnePlus Open in India last year, Vivo has announced the upcoming arrival of their first foldable phone, the X Fold 3 Pro. This feature-packed device boasts AI capabilities and is set to debut in India on June 6th.
Mark Your Calendars: Vivo X Fold 3 Pro Arrives June 6th
Vivo’s official Indian social media channels announced the launch date with a teaser video showcasing the phone’s sleek design and the June 6th launch date. This follows an earlier “accidental” leak on Vivo’s microsite, which generated a lot of excitement.
Expected Specs and Price: A Lightweight Powerhouse?
With the official launch date confirmed, let’s dive into what Vivo has in store for Indian consumers. The X Fold 3 Pro, first unveiled globally in March 2023, is expected to retain most of its original features for the Indian market. Leaks and rumors suggest some exciting possibilities:
- Lightweight Champion: The X Fold 3 Pro might be the first foldable phone to boast a Carbon Fibre Keel hinge, making it remarkably thin and light (around 236 grams and 11.2mm thick when folded) for a foldable phone. Durability shouldn’t be a concern either, with TÅ“V Rheinland tests confirming the hinge can withstand up to 500,000 folds, translating to roughly 12 years of use.
- Double the Display, Double the Fun: The phone is expected to feature a dual-display setup: a 6.53-inch outer display for everyday use and a larger 8.03-inch inner AMOLED LTPO folding display for an immersive viewing experience. Both displays are rumored to offer a high resolution (2480 x 2200 pixels), a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.
- Camera Powerhouse: Photography enthusiasts will rejoice! The X Fold 3 Pro is rumored to sport a triple-camera system on the back, featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for sharper photos, a 64-megapixel 3x telephoto lens for zooming in, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens for capturing expansive scenes. A 32-megapixel front camera is also expected for selfies and video calls.
- Performance Packed: Under the hood, the X Fold 3 Pro is anticipated to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, promising top-notch performance. This will be complemented by an Adreno GPU for smooth graphics processing. Storage options could range up to a massive 1TB, with RAM options going up to 16GB. The phone is also likely to run the latest OriginOS 4 based on Android 14.
- Long-lasting Battery: Keeping the power flowing is a rumored 5,700mAh battery, which should be enough to last a full day on a single charge.
Availability and Pricing:
The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro will be available for purchase through Flipkart, Vivo India’s online store, and offline retail channels. While the official Indian price hasn’t been revealed yet, considering the phone’s price tag of 9,999 yuan (approximately Rs 1.17 lakh) in China, we can expect it to be priced under Rs 1.5 lakh in India.
