KEI Industries Launches ‘Suraksha Jyoti’ Initiative: A CSR Program for Electricians’ Safety and Welfare
Delhi: KEI Industries, a leading name in the electrical and power solutions industry, unveiled its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Suraksha Jyoti,” under the Jyoti Series. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the safety, welfare, and financial security of electricians across India. By focusing on encouraging the registration of electricians for the E-Shram card, the program ensures access to accident insurance and various government welfare schemes that will benefit electricians and their families in the long term.
Empowering Electricians through Financial Security
The ‘Suraksha Jyoti’ program is designed to offer electricians not only short-term safety benefits but also long-term financial security. At the core of this initiative is the E-Shram card, which provides multiple benefits, including accident insurance and access to welfare schemes that are essential for the economic security of electricians. Additionally, the card offers pension benefits, ensuring electricians and their families are protected even in their retirement years.
Spearheading the CSR Initiative: Mrs. Archana Gupta
Mrs. Archana Gupta, Non-Executive Director of KEI Industries and Chief Custodian of the CSR Foundation, presided over the event and referred to electricians as an extension of her family. Emphasizing the importance of their safety, children’s education, and overall economic well-being, Mrs. Gupta highlighted KEI’s commitment to the safety and prosperity of electricians. She introduced the slogan, “Bright Future in Safe Hands,” reinforcing KEI’s dedication to safeguarding the future of electricians and their families.
Mass Participation and Registration Drive
The event witnessed an enthusiastic response, with around 265 electricians and members of the KEI family in attendance. During the course of the program, more than 200 electricians successfully registered for their E-Shram cards. The registration drive is a significant step towards helping electricians gain access to essential government schemes, including accident insurance and pension benefits.
Raising Awareness through Nukkad Natak
To further raise awareness about the benefits of the E-Shram card, the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, and pension schemes, a Nukkad Natak (street play) was organized during the event. The play was well-received and served as an effective medium to educate electricians about the importance of registering for the E-Shram card and how it can safeguard their financial future.

The event was graced by several key members from KEI Industries. Notable attendees included:

Comprehensive Benefits of the E-Shram Card
One of the primary goals of the “Suraksha Jyoti” initiative is to facilitate the registration of electricians for the E-Shram card, which offers substantial financial and social benefits. Key features of the card include:
- ₹2 lakh insurance coverage in case of accidental death or work-related incidents.
- ₹1 lakh insurance coverage for partial disability resulting from work-related accidents.
- A monthly pension of ₹3,000 upon reaching the age of 60.
- In the event of the beneficiary’s death, pension benefits will be transferred to their spouse.
Through this initiative, KEI Industries aims to secure the financial future of electricians and provide long-term protection for their families. KEI will also assist electricians in accessing these government benefits, making the process seamless and ensuring that electricians nationwide are covered.
A Nationwide Reach for Electricians
The ‘Suraksha Jyoti’ initiative will have a nationwide impact, with electricians across India benefiting from the program. Upon registering for the E-Shram card, electricians will be assigned a 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN), which is valid across the country. This number provides national recognition and offers access to various government welfare schemes.
Eligibility criteria for the program are straightforward, targeting electricians working in the unorganized sector with a monthly income of less than ₹15,000 and no existing Provident Fund (PF) or Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) account.
Commitment to Electricians’ Safety and Well-Being
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Archana Gupta, Director of KEI Industries, said, “Our CSR initiatives under the ‘Jyoti’ series cover critical areas for human development, such as healthcare, education, poverty alleviation, environmental sustainability, and sports promotion. At KEI, we believe in empowering the lives of those who build homes, not just powering homes. Through the ‘Suraksha Jyoti’ initiative, we aim to secure the future of electricians by supporting their financial and social well-being. I wish everyone a safe, prosperous, and joyous Diwali!”

By ensuring electricians’ access to government schemes and facilitating the registration process, KEI is taking a proactive role in securing their future and providing a sustainable, safe work environment for them.
A Safe Future in Safe Hands
