Maharashtra Tourism’s road show in Vishakhapatnam received an overwhelming response
Vishakhapatnam: Maharashtra Tourism is conducting an 8-city roadshow nationwide to explore market potential and connect with prospective clients. The initiative also involves participation in trade fairs, showcasing the diverse travel and tourism offerings of the state, including historical sites, beaches, religious monuments, hill stations, wildlife, adventure sports, cuisine, and cultural festivals. Bengaluru hosted the recent roadshow on November 30 at Courtyard KSR Prime, drawing significant attention from the city’s travel industry.
In recent years, there’s been a noticeable increase in travel from South India, particularly to pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra like Ashtavinayak, Jyotirlangas, Pandharpur, and Kolhapur. Recognizing this trend, Maharashtra Tourism has a valuable opportunity to cater to the devotional travel preferences of South Indian citizens by promoting its diverse range of fitting destinations.
Smt. Jayshree Bhoj, IAS, Secretary (Tourism)) said, “After receiving an overwhelming response from our roadshows last year, we are elated to organize a road show series this year as well to newer markets and explore untapped opportunities. Our motive is to promote tourism and boost inter-state travel and tourism. We are happy to receive such a great response for our roadshow in Vishakhapatnam. Maharashtra as a state is rich in travel and tourism opportunities due to various aspects. Post covid, the tourism industry is reviving and the travel companies in Maharashtra are witnessing an uptick in booking trends. We are certain that all our forthcoming roadshows in the country will get a great response from the citizens.”
Maharashtra provides abundant opportunities for tourists with excellent connectivity by railways, roadways, and airways for both domestic and international travelers. Maharashtra Tourism promotes niche tourism through policies like Agro Tourism, Beach Shack, Caravan, and Adventure Tourism, tailored to evolving travel trends and consumer behavior.
