New Delhi: The audacious intrusion into the Lok Sabha by a coordinated group of six persons has sent shockwaves through the political circles of India. Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D’s dramatic leap into the MPs’ seating area, accompanied by Anmol and Neelam’s disruptive slogans, came across as a carefully planned attack. Delhi Police sources revealed that the criminals, known for four years, conducted extensive recce and lived together in Gurugram. The deployment of canisters emitting yellow gas added an unsettling element to the violation, as Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant described the unsettling experience.

After being quickly controlled by the alert MPs, the trespassers were handed over to the security personnel. Notably, two additional individuals, Lalit and Vikram, suspected accomplices, remain at large. The Delhi Police investigation, which also included a visit to the Gurugram residence of the culprits, aims to find out the extent and motives behind this shocking security lapse.

The Parliament Secretariat subsequently called for an urgent security review and high-level investigation, highlighting the underlying vulnerabilities exposed during the breach. The shortcomings of security protocols were discussed at an all-party meeting called by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, with leaders highlighting the impact of staff shortage on enforcement. As India contemplates the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks, this breach is a reminder of the imperative to strengthen and adapt security measures to protect the sanctity of parliamentary proceedings.”
