The new Kia Carnival has been spotted completely undisguised in India.

New Delhi: The fourth-generation Kia Carnival, slated for an introduction in India around the upcoming festival season, has been recently spotted testing on roads without any camouflage. This sighting features the facelifted version of the fourth-gen model that made its international debut in November 2023. The new Carnival represents a significant upgrade from its third-generation predecessor, offering enhanced features, a more premium feel, and improved road presence.

New Kia Carnival: what do the spy shots reveal?

The test mule of the updated fourth-generation Kia Carnival, recently spotted without camouflage, features several notable design enhancements. The front fascia now sports a more upright nose, a wide grille with chrome highlights, and vertical headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lamps. The bumper includes a small air intake, surrounded by a faux brushed aluminum skid plate.

At the rear, the L-shaped design motif is evident in the tail-lamps, which are connected by an LED light bar. The rear bumper combines matte black plastic with faux silver trim. The side profile of the new Carnival showcases a large glasshouse, sliding rear doors, and a textured panel around the rear quarter glass. Additionally, the vehicle appears to be equipped with larger alloy wheels, possibly 18-inch ones.

2024 Kia Carnival: interior and features

Although the spy shots do not reveal the new Carnival’s cabin, it is expected to closely mirror the global-spec model. The interior will feature a minimalistic design with two 12.3-inch displays as the focal point. The MPV will also include updated AC and audio controls situated below the central screen, a rotary drive selector, front and rear dash cameras, a head-up display, a digital rear-view mirror, an updated digital key, and ambient lighting along the dashboard. While the global model offers 7-, 9-, and 11-seat configurations, it remains to be seen which configurations will be available in the Indian market.

Kia claims the new Carnival has improved cabin ambience thanks to better materials for sound insulation. Also on offer could be the option of a 14.6-inch rear entertainment screen. In terms of safety, the facelifted Carnival sold overseas has an ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, and more. Eight airbags are also standard on the international model.

2024 Kia Carnival: engine and specs

While the Carnival sold internationally has 3.5-litre petrol, 1.6-litre petrol-electric, and 2.2-litre diesel engine options, the model for India is likely to continue with its predecessor’s 201hp, 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel unit and automatic transmission.

2024 Kia Carnival: price, rivals

The new Carnival is expected to launch in India by September-October this year and could be priced in the range of Rs 26 lakh-35 lakh, ex-showroom, India. It will likely come in via the CKD route, just like its predecessor. Although it will be positioned slightly above the Toyota Innova Hycross, it will still be its closest rival.
