Abhishek Scores Brace to Guide Indian Men’s Hockey Team to 4-2 Win Against Japan in Asian Games 2023.

Delhi: India defeated Japan 4-2 to win their third straight game and advance to Thursday’s men’s hockey semifinal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou thanks in large part to the two goals scored by the young striker Abhishek. Mandeep Singh (24th) and Amit Rohidas (34) were India’s other goal scorers, with two field goals each from Abhishek (13th, 48th). In the final five minutes of the fourth and final quarter, Japan rallied and cut the deficit to one goal by scoring two quick goals through Genki Mitani (57th) and Ryosei Kato (60th).

India will play arch-rivals Pakistan in their next Pool A match on Saturday.
