New Delhi: Bajaj Auto is preparing to revolutionize the electric scooter market with the imminent launch of an affordable variant under its Chetak brand. Scheduled for release in May, the new model aims to meet the growing needs of consumers while making electric mobility more accessible to the masses.

In response to declining government subsidies for electric vehicles, Bajaj Auto is doubling down on its commitment to sustainable transportation by expanding its Chetak lineup. Rakesh Sharma, executive director, of Bajaj Auto, during a recent post-earnings call, emphasized the company’s strategic focus on broadening its electric scooter portfolio. With the success of product upgrades in the fourth quarter, Bajaj Auto is set to capitalize on market demand by introducing more mass-appealing offerings.

Although specific pricing details are unknown, Sharma hinted at competitive positioning aimed at capturing a larger market share. The new Chetak variant is expected to democratize electric mobility and cater to a diverse range of consumers seeking sustainable transportation solutions.
