Nokia G42 5G Debuts in India, Offers 4GB RAM Version at Rs. 9999

New Delhi: HMD Global has introduced a new variant of the Nokia G42 5G in India, featuring 4GB of RAM (with an additional 2GB of virtual RAM) and 128GB of storage. This latest release follows the previous launches of the phone with 6GB of RAM (including 5GB of virtual RAM) and 128GB of storage in September last year, as well as an 8GB RAM variant (with 8GB of virtual RAM) and 256GB of storage in October. The Nokia G42 5G variant with 4GB RAM (including 2GB of virtual RAM) and 128GB storage is available exclusively on Amazon.in and HMD.com. It will have its first sale in India on Women’s Day, March 8th, 2024.

In terms of specifications, the Nokia G42 5G features a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display offers a brightness level of 450 nits (typical) and 560 nits with brightness boost, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, it is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 480+ 8nm Mobile Platform coupled with the Adreno 619 GPU.

The device provides options for RAM and storage configurations, including 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. It also supports microSD cards for expandable storage up to 1TB. The Nokia G42 5G runs on the Android 13 operating system and offers a hybrid dual SIM setup (nano + nano/microSD).

In terms of photography, the Nokia G42 5G features a 50MP autofocus main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens, both with an f/2.4 aperture. The camera setup includes LED flash, Night mode 2.0, AI Portrait, and OZO 3D audio capture. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera.

Additional features include a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security, and IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, and USB Type-C 2.0. The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery with 20W fast charging support, compatible with both QC3.0 and PD3.0 standards.
