WhatsApp to Introduce Feature for Managing Meta AI’s Voice

New Delhi: WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature that will enable real-time voice conversations with Meta AI’s chatbot, according to a recent report by WABetainfo. This upcoming feature, currently in development and spotted in the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 24.16.10.70, aims to enhance user interaction by allowing them to engage in voice conversations with the chatbot.

The new Meta AI voice chat mode will offer users a selection of default voice options for responding to queries. However, this feature will not be activated by default. Users will have the flexibility to end the voice conversation at any time. They will also receive a privacy indicator on iOS devices, which notifies them when Meta AI’s microphone is active, ensuring transparency and control over their interactions.

In addition to real-time voice conversations, WhatsApp is working on features that will allow users to manage Meta AI’s voice settings. This includes enabling captions and transcripts that convert speech to text during voice interactions. Users will also have the option to choose between two voice output modes: Brief and Full. The Brief mode will provide concise, to-the-point responses, while the Full mode will generate detailed and comprehensive answers for more complex queries.

This development marks a significant enhancement in WhatsApp’s functionality, offering users a more interactive and customizable experience with Meta AI. The new features are expected to roll out in future updates, further enriching the platform’s capabilities and user engagement.
