HMD Drops Hints About Reviving Classic Feature Phone, Potential Remake for Nokia 3210.

New Delhi: HMD is preparing to unveil a fresh smartphone in the near future. The Finnish mobile giant recently dropped a teaser hinting at the arrival of a new device in May, although it hasn’t disclosed the name yet. Speculation suggests that HMD Global might introduce an updated version of the classic Nokia 3210. This move marks a departure from exclusively offering Nokia-branded phones, as the company announced plans to launch its own branded phones in 2024, after seven years of solely selling Nokia phones.

On Monday, March 18, HMD made an announcement on X platform, teasing the unveiling of a new iconic phone scheduled for May. Alongside the announcement, they shared a pixelated image of a yellow Nokia feature phone with the caption “An icon returns this May.” Interested individuals can sign up with their email addresses on the company’s website to receive updates about the launch.

Given that the X post coincided with the 25th anniversary of the Nokia 3210, it’s strongly speculated that this model will be making a comeback. HMD Global even mentioned the phone’s birthday in their post. Meanwhile, HMD has plans to introduce self-branded smartphones in July this year, following their rebranding efforts announced during MWC 2024. They have confirmed their intention to pursue a multi-brand strategy, manufacturing original devices under the HMD name while continuing to market Nokia phones.

Additionally, HMD is gearing up to introduce a flip phone branded with Barbie in the summer of this year, in collaboration with toy manufacturer Mattel.
