New Delhi: Tata Motors has solidified its position as the leader in car safety in India. This dominance extends to both electric vehicles (EVs) and internal combustion engine (ICE) models, with top ratings achieved in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP testing.

The latest addition to Tata’s roster of five-star safety rated SUVs is the Tata Punch.ev, the company’s most affordable electric SUV. This achievement brings Tata’s total to four SUVs with the highest safety rating, including the Nexon.ev, Harrier, and Safari.

All four SUVs have earned five stars in both adult and child occupant protection categories. Notably, the Punch.ev outperforms its siblings in terms of points scored. In adult occupant protection, the Punch.ev achieves an impressive 31.46 points out of 32, compared to 30.08 for the Harrier and Safari and 29.86 for the Nexon.ev.

Child safety ratings follow a similar trend. The Punch.ev garners 45 points out of 49, while the Nexon.ev scores 44.95 and the Harrier and Safari each receive 44.54 points.

The Tata Punch.ev boasts a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and reaches Rs 15.49 lakh. Currently, it holds the distinction of having no direct competitor in the market.

Two variants are available: a standard option with a 60kW motor, 25kWh battery pack, and a 315km claimed range (MIDC), and a Long Range variant featuring a 90kW motor, 35kWh battery pack, and a 421km claimed range (MIDC).

This impressive safety performance by Tata Motors highlights their commitment to occupant protection across their entire vehicle lineup.
