Vedanta’s ‘Continuum of Care’ Transforms over 30 Lakh Lives Through Healthcare
New Delhi, 9th April 2026: Vedanta Limited, (NSE: VEDL), India’s leading metals, oil & gas, critical minerals, power, and technology conglomerate, reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening community healthcare and improving access to quality medical services across underserved regions of India. Through a wide array of health interventions spanning over 1,100 villages across, Vedanta’s healthcare initiatives have positively impacted over 30 lakh beneficiaries in FY26, advancing preventive care, early diagnosis, and health awareness among rural areas. In the last financial year alone, the company invested over ₹50 crore towards healthcare initiatives under its social impact programmes, taking its total healthcare investment to around ₹130 crore over the past four years.
Guided by a holistic, life cycle-based healthcare strategy, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Vedanta’s community programmes are designed to address healthcare needs across every stage of life—from early childhood to adulthood and elderly care. The company’s interventions span the full continuum of care, including preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, primary treatment access, and sustained disease management, ensuring continuity and depth of impact. Key focus areas include maternal and child health, adolescent well-being, nutrition security, and management of non-communicable diseases, supported by prenatal and postnatal care for mothers, early childhood interventions for children (0–6 years), and community-led awareness programmes that drive behavioural change. Through a combination of on-ground infrastructure, mobile healthcare delivery, digital enablement, and trained community health workers, Vedanta is bridging gaps in last-mile access and strengthening local healthcare ecosystems. Aligned with this year’s World Health Day theme, “Together for health. Stand with science,” Vedanta continues to advance data-driven, evidence-based and community-centric interventions that promote awareness, prevention, and equitable access to quality healthcare services.
Its flagship Nand Ghar includes a network of modernized anganwadis that deliver integrated nutrition, early childhood care, and healthcare support at the grassroots level. Additional to this, the company strengthens healthcare access through Mobile Health Vans, medical centres, and support to district and company-run hospitals across India. Vedanta also supports BALCO Medical Centre in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a state-of-the-art cancer hospital providing affordable, world-class oncology care, which recently introduced the da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system, becoming the first private hospital in Central India to deploy this advanced cancer surgery technology.
These initiatives are driving measurable improvements in community health outcomes through preventive screening and continuity of care. Programmes such as Swasthya Saarthi and Mobile Health Vans are expanding access to doorstep healthcare, reducing dependence on distant medical facilities. Strengthening this ecosystem, Vedanta’s pathology clinic in Jharsuguda is enabling access to reliable, timely diagnostic services at the community level, supporting early and accurate detection of conditions such as anaemia, infections, and non-communicable diseases, with thousands of tests conducted annually. This is complemented by strengthened referral linkages and support to hospitals and medical centres across states such as Rajasthan, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh, ensuring that identified cases receive timely secondary and tertiary care. Community health screenings enable early identification of malnutrition, with critical cases referred for specialized treatment, while targeted interventions support pregnant and lactating women through anaemia awareness and assured antenatal care, contributing to stronger maternal and child health outcomes.
In Rajasthan, a Mobile Health Van screening enabled early detection of severe anaemia in Komal Gadri, 12-year-old girl from Suwaniya village in Chittorgarh district in Rajasthan, whose condition was identified in time and treated through referral support, helping her regain health and return to school with renewed confidence. In Bhilwara, elderly beneficiary Ganga Devi received timely treatment and hygiene counselling for a chronic skin condition, significantly improving her well-being and quality of life. Long-term engagement through Mobile Health Units has also enabled patients such as Santosh Hans and Draupadi Khaesel in Odisha to effectively manage hypertension, diabetes, and asthma through regular monitoring and treatment, demonstrating how sustained primary healthcare access can meaningfully improve health outcomes in remote communities.
